And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have to say, that somehow I don't find that space appealing. It looks too artificially casual. Too many "designer" touches - feathers on the cow skull; a candle that has never been lit; pillows in the chairs that look nice but which would actually make sitting in those chairs uncomfortable. Oh, and of course a fireplace that has never, once, been used.

DeleteHow long does that adobe mud structure last? Figure it has to be painted to keep it dry from rain?
ReplyDeleteMost "adobe" today is not mud but cement-based stucco. My Colorado home being one of them.
