And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That be one damp abode, chill you to the bone on a winters night, can't imagine humping the amount of fire wood charcoal or peat you need to stay warm in that tower.
Also described as "Crowns Engine Houses, Botallack Mine". I'm guessing "engine" refers to an engine for dewatering the mine. Which was the original application of steam engines at the dawn of the industrial age.
The story of why that was built there in the first place would probably be very interesting.
