  1. 1947 or 48 I'm guessing, a lot of pre WW2 cars, not many post war

  2. Notice how clean and litter free it is? Pre liberal and pre illegal alien. Watch old film clips of NYC - same thing

  3. If by some miracle I could either be a young man again in the present, or travel back in time remaining as old as I am now, I would gladly choose the latter!

  4. Note the oil wells.

  5. Late 1948 or likely 1949 -- there were 2 or 3 1949 Fords in the film

  6. When I was about 6 or 7 my dad and grandpa were driving an old 40s Chevy to get it licensed. We came to a stop sign and some toughs were mouthing off. My dad, a decorated vet, wanted to kick their ass but my gramps, a tough old guy said it wasn't worth it. What would they think of todays youth?

  8. I bet there's still a bunch of oil under there. They only got the easy stuff.

  9. Santa Monica, and downtown Los Angeles, when City Hall was the tallest building around.

  10. This can't be real...The world was black and white up until 1961 when color was invented...

  11. The oil derricks are gone. They've turned Surf City into a glitzy decadent tourist trap.
