And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I read a blog (last month?) about a guy who was sitting on his porch (balcony?) and got hit on his right shoulder, the storm was doing it's thing 2 miles away. I suspect I didn't have enough respect for a lightning storm until I read that.
After a storm has moved on, there may still remain electrical potential in the sky. Therefore, there can be lightning out of the clear blue sky.
I used to think one has a higher chance of being struck out of the clear blue than of winning big in the lottery. So I studied on it, and sho nuff, it can and does happen.
