  3. I read a blog (last month?) about a guy who was sitting on his porch (balcony?) and got hit on his right shoulder, the storm was doing it's thing 2 miles away.
    I suspect I didn't have enough respect for a lightning storm until I read that.

    1. After a storm has moved on, there may still remain electrical potential in the sky. Therefore, there can be lightning out of the clear blue sky.

      I used to think one has a higher chance of being struck out of the clear blue than of winning big in the lottery. So I studied on it, and sho nuff, it can and does happen.
