Please, Jeep, make a basic, classic model that doesn't cost 35k or more.

  1. Jeep could sell alot of basic models, and I mean alot, if they did as you suggested, but unfortunately today government regulations on vehicle safety would prevent them from doing so.

  2. The last one I bought brand new was the base model in 2004. Paid 18k, drove it for 14 years and sold it for 4500…

    1. It can be made street legal, depending upon the state. For example, in Texas you could register it as a Farm Truck and upgrade it with turn signals and so forth. Differs by state - there's a writeup about it.

    2. It's speed governed but there's ways around that too.

  6. Define "basic". A bare bones jeep with no top, stick shift, no heater, radio etc. is NOT going to sell. A jeep doesn't need power windows and all the other niceites they are putting in them now but to actually live with one requires the basic amenities.
