And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
lee's here, too, regular fit. I prefer their jean jacket, also, altho I have an original carhartt brown duck jean jacket that I'd have to be killed for.
Lee used to make Lee 77s (zipper fly) and 88s (button fly) up until the 80's. They were the Gold Standard for loggers. They came with bachelor buttons for suspenders, had lots of room for thunder thighs and wore like iron. I still miss them not being around anymore.
Key Apparel makes logger jeans still, in the roomy cut you describe and single and double-front, huge pockets (I can almost straighten my arm out with my hand open in the side pocket), 13oz denim, galluses buttons already on 'em. $39 if I recall correctly.
Yes, thank gosh Key still makes them. I've tried them and Bailey's Wild Ass jeans, still like the Lees best. The only ones I haven't tried are Prison Blues from Madsens. I like the concept of inmates being productive and participating in a successful business.
I just don't get the skinny jean thing. I like 'em baggy so the brothers can breathe.
I knew a man that wore overalls every day. Usually had about $3,000 dollars and a pistol hid in them. He also owned a major soda brand bottling plant but you would never know it by looking at him
Also seen a farmer at an auction in overalls that dropped $40,000 on farm equipment. They hide their money and boast about it. Live life on their terms and don't let anything go to waste. It is the way they were raised
All of us boys in my family had that one special pair of like new bibs we kept only for Sunday Church . As soon as we got home from church off they came and back into the worn ones.
I don't wear Lee's overalls, but I've been wearing Lee jeans since the mid 1970s. I never cared for Levi's.
ReplyDeleteAnd they were cheaper.

DeleteI wear Carhartt overalls, regular plain denim.
When Levis moved their manufacturing to Mexico, the quality took a nosedive. I switched to Lee Jeans right after. Buddy Lee is the man!
