  2. That is one story, but it seems that Don Aronow needs be considered. He designed the world champion boat "The Cigarette" and started Cigarette Racing Team.

    The original go-fast designs were rum-runners it is said.

    Two movie about him - Thunder Man: The Don Aronow Story and the stylized Speed Kills.

    Later these boats were cocaine smuggler's favorites.

    Aronow was murdered in a gangland style hit.

    And the boats go damn fast!

  7. Sweet boat. I got to know the chief engineer for Johnson Outboard. He used to race Johnson outboards in 1940's. Fun conversations with this man.
