And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Diving up in Rockport many decades ago I lost sight of my dive partner. So I stopped and settled to the bottom to look around. I then saw him behind me coming up slowly. Except it wasn't him, it was a shark (think it was a great white but at the time classification wasn't my greatest interest). It appearently had been following and when I stopped it caught up and passed me by. Close enough to touch. The funny thing was, after I surfaced and alerted my dive partner; we left the water and went back to find out that the car had been stolen while we were down. Made the trip back to Boston on the train in holding our scuba gear in our laps.
The guy already lost his left leg below the knee......
