And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In high school I had 57 Bel Aire with fuel injection and buddy had blown Avanti. Always a close race but I would beat him. I bought the Chevy fuelie for $150. Should have kept it.
back then I thought this, and the Jaguar E Type, would never look dated. Now I imagine a member of the rat pack in a hat with a skinny tie and white socks driving one of these.
The Ford GT-40 and Sandra Bullock are the two things from 1963 that don't look dated.
If you can believe it, I saw a silver one in a grocery store parking lot in the wilds of central Maine this past spring. It was parked close to the store entrance with cars on each side and another within three feet of the Avanti's nose. It also was in mint condition.
