YF-84F and YRF-84F prototypes in 1952.

  1. My father flew RF-84Fs in the ANG back in the 1960s and 70s. They had undergone a little redesign from those YF versions, especially with the canopy. Because of the limitations on introducing "new" aircraft into Korea, instead of being the F-96 (the original designation for the design) they were branded the F version of the F-84. I guess they could retain the F-84 since those two airplanes were built using parts of F-84Es.
