Anyone know what that fish is, and is it edible?

  1. Looks like a redfish, this one has a couple of extra spots. You can eat them but they need to be cooked or smoked well as they can have parasites. Allan

  3. Redfish. A good fighting fish. You should schedule a trip Steinhatchee (pronounced Steenhachee) Florida.

  4. Red Drum I believe. Commonly known as Redfish. Yes, they are good to eat. The small ones are the best. The large ones are tougher and tend to get parasites.

  6. The typical wild bred redfish have just one spot. Hatchery raised redfish typically have multiple spots.

  7. Also called a Spot Tail in the Lowcountry.

    They are delicious.

    Excellent gamefish to chase on the flats.

    They can get quite large too.

  8. A redfish, Cook it CAJUN style. One of the TASTIST fish on the market. GREAT BLACKENED REDFISH, NEW ORLEANS, recipe is REALLY GOOD!

  9. It got really dusty in here, all of a sudden. Some of my fondest memories are fishing with my grandfather, who was a charter member of the Suburban Gun and Rod club in Davant, LA. Redfish (Channel bass) were our favorite to catch and eat. Absolutely delicious!
