That'd be heavy

  1. And add a anvil for the end table. Floor joist's might groan.

  2. Doesn't look very stable, that thing tips over the glass would take someones leg off.

Maybe it's a plastic casting. I hope. Is Hulk Hogan the maid who does the vacuuming?

  3. We have a Mercury V-6 outboard racing motor we use as a table. Not that we designed it that way it's just a place to put our beer down.

  4. Cosworth racing, probably mostly aluminum, bet it weighs less than 300 lbs. Crank is probably the heaviest component.

  5. I've seen (and moved) a few of those tables. They weren't real engine blocks and only weighed about 75 lbs.

  6. A more visually interesting coffee table was the triple 750 Honda engine package from the "Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe" Top Fuel motorcycle dragster. Crashed going through the lights and ripped the front and rear ends off. The power pod was encased in Lucite and used in the builder's home.

They did a spread on it in one of the bike mags. I got to see that launch while in line behind it at Atco Dragway in NJ. Impressive! They would shut down the little concession store on the side of the track when it ran, as it had a habit of tossing an engine connecting belt into it early in it's pass. Originally they used chains to connect the engines together, but switched to drive belts at some point. Russ Collins was the racer. Died in 2015. His main competitor was T.C Christianson on his twin engine Norton dragster, "Hogslayer". These two bikes ran in 7 second times.
