And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Cars and trucks apparently become antiques at fifty years. The photo has a what was then a brand new truck, parked among what, today, are still front line bombers. Boeing really did a good job on the Stratofortress.
I believe this color scheme was prior to that, shortly after it replaced the B-47, which also had the silver color scheme with the SAC "Milky Way" flash on the nose.

ReplyDeleteI was in the USAF 1968-72 and never once saw a silver B-52. Served in PACAF and SAC; all were painted camo.

DeleteAs a kid in the 60's my neighbor flew those never knew what years he was older. Damn alzheimers took him, wonderful man.
