Living the Life

  1. A fellow near my home town camps like this quite often. He's a commercial airline pilot who spends his days off doing fun stuff like this and posting his experiences on his YouTube channel. I never knew so many small, grass airstrips existed in the West until I saw them on his channel.
Needless to say, I can't afford my own small plane so I live vicariously through my friend that I've never met, Juan Browne.

    2. 10-4. He's a Nevada County native whose mom used to write columns about history in the local paper. Juan's mom was named Juanita and she was an excellent writer.

I get the feeling that anything the family does/did they do/did well.

  2. No getting to your campsite after dark and setting up. Cool way to camp, but don't expect any runs to town should you forget someth8ng.

  4. My flight instructor, way back when, had done the round the states trip camping under the wing at night routine before he got around to instructing. He did have to spend a night or two sleeping in the pilot seat but not much.
