And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had the flathead when I was young, funny you could change spark plugs with crescent wrench. 53 f100. Stupidest thing was I scraped it. So many regrets.
A great collection of switchback roads! That bay window VW bus looks great (Oregon coast?), taking it onto the salt like that should be a hard thing to do. I have pictures of my '87 on the dry sand on a Washington state beach, not as good a picture as that either. I really wasn't thinking too much about the salt when I took it on the beach. Anyone know where that last bridge is?
That rock off the beach (w/ vw bus) looks like just north of Big Sur in CA. Sister had a place at the south end of that town for ~20 years. Oaks are gone, mostly just Redwoods left now, due to a tree killing fungus.
Crescent Falls in Alberta. You can climb down to the base of the first set easily enough. Three people died over a year ago where they fell from the top of the second set of falls.
Very nice selection this morning ... the 3rd from bottom 'Comet' is very cool !
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of engine is that ? They keep the engine compartment immaculate.
Thank you CW.
Flat head Ford. With 'Smitty' mufflers they have a sound of their own!
DeleteMy favorite is the one with the dog.
ReplyDeleteJust off the top of my head, I'd say 35 is still too fast for that section of road.
ReplyDeleteShould be "Friday Closed Road"
Delete1940's Ford Flathead V8
