Fly-past of a C-17 Globemaster (Brisbane QLD, Australia 22 Sept 2021)

One USAF C-17 pilot who saw the fly-by said the low fly-by was extremely dangerous.

"If the crew's timing is off or if they are slow to react, the jet would collide with a building. Very risky," said the pilot, who wanted to remain anonymous.

He explained in the US, C-17 pilots must fly 1,000 feet above building structures in populated areas. Even during flyovers for sporting events, the transport plane cannot fly below building tops.

"Those Brisbane videos are insane," the pilot said. "We could never do something like that in the USAF. If we did, we would lose our wings immediately — never fly again."

  1. Probably the Aussie coppers trying to get "eyes on" those evil anti-mask protestors.

  2. So Air Force pilots are pussies, just like Navy pilots have claimed for years?..."Flare to land, squat to pee"....

  3. Just the Oz government showing its people the weapons they have to suppress them and lock them up.

  4. The pilot quoted is just a wuss. The 1,000 feet is just a regulation. It is pretty much universal. The pilot flying the C-17 is just fine. I speak as an AF pilot with about 4000 hours of flying time mainly in C-130s

  6. Can you imagine anyone trying this post 911 in a American big city? People would be shitting little green apples watching a big jet lower than skyscrapers. I'd love to see some of my tax money spent on the military flying low over my house.

    1. Bull s**t. That crew was preparing for an airshow flyby. Why is it that guys named "anonymous" are always such loudmouth retards?

  8. Let's see.
    - Obvious maneuvering to set up the shot.
    - Professional stabilized camera set up.
My guess... Movie or publicity shot.

  9. BS! I have flown in C-17's for combat takeoffs and landings. The pilots had that big bird rocking and doing things I didn't think were possible in a plane that large.

  10. While I know the Aussie govt has gone full on tyranny, this flying between the buildings in Oz Land is something they do on a 'regular' basis. Every year new & updated videos come out of their various planes flying this route. It's done for training & an annual air show they have down there.
It's considered very realistic training. Very realistic.
