And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? "We Took to the Woods", by Louise Dickinson Rich. Married an older man (Ralph Rich) after meeting him while on a canoe trip with college friends in Maine. Lived at the fishing/hunting camp year round and wrote stories for Reader's Digest and others and then the book. There was a second book "Our Neck of the Woods". Both excellent reads and hard to find.
Odd little shop in S.C. Or a book about a family that took to the woods of Maine in the vein of Bradford Angier and Dick Proenicke.
