And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Resident Joe Biden issued a (standard) proclamation ordering flags to half-staff for Peace Officers Memorial Day on Monday and then, a few days later, issued a second proclamation unproclamating the first proclamation.
Anybody who witnessed the Bjork and Thomas confirmation hearings got a good look at Joe Biden. Male pattern baldness, a translucent comb-over, sneaky eyes, and a sneering, nasty, insinuating manner that somehow still managed to be lightweight. Joe Biden has always been a hack, but he's been a well-rewarded old-school ward-heeler. Nothing else. The end of his career should have been the VP, but this current situation does show how desperate - and how effective - the Democrat Machine can be. The Republicans, meanwhile, are still carpooling in their beetle.
