Sno-White Drive-ins, founded in the early 1950s, once numbered around 200 in Northern California, but began to fade away like so many roadside eateries of that era when the corporation closed, in the 1970s, according to an old clip from the Oakdale Leader newspaper. But there are still a number of them hanging on even now.
I used to work at one in San Jose while in high school. It was on Senter Road, just North of Capital Expressway. Wow! That brings back some memories. Met my first girlfriend there and had my first serious soul wrenching kiss...
