  1. Paid 400 for mine, way back when..... remember the water coming up thru the wood floor boards... this was the car that taught me that it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow....

    1. I hear that said quite a bit but, it's more fun to drive a fast car fast.
Also called the "Frog" the Mark I Sprite (to me) is one of the all time best small sport cars.

  2. Bug-eyed Sprite. I knew a guy that put a 283 small-block Chevy with a Powerglide trans (simple, and likely the only auto in those days) and it was pretty cool, but surely impractical. Not sure how he helped out the front suspension because of all that extra weight. Nonetheless........

  3. Always wanted a Bugeye. Not so primitive as to opt for side-curtains, I settled for a '66. Sold it after a bit thinking I'd outgrown British blacksmithery. Wrong. Came back for more with a '67.
Very insightful statement; "it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow".
Somewhere in the rubble pile I have a '60's RT/CD pinup of a Cali Bugeye with a well dressed small block Chevy.
