My mother used to check the receipt against the items as she unpacked the groceries. But I noticed that those times when something didn't check out she simply finished putting everything away and tossed the list. I asked her why she bothered to check if she wasn't going to do anything about it? She replied, "I just want to know".
Well if nothing is going to be done, I don't want to know.
