And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I'm probably too late to order mine. It's already snowing between here and the coast.
I have the little older briggs model like this one. Only works in snow about 3-4inches which is perfect for pueblo. Light enough you can lift it into truck, just barely. Way way better than shoveling. It's like a lawn mower for snow. Pretty cool.
Like Greg sez, good for 3-4 inches. It looks like a snow thrower, not a blower(Google it, may also be called a 2 stage). It won't be good for deep snow, or wet heavy snow, especially if you get a lot of it.
Pro trick: keep a spray bottle of varsol with a spritz of used motor oil added, to wet the auger housing and chute before use. Keeps snow esp. the wet stuff from bunging up chute. A heavier coating off season keeps rust at bay. Annual oil changes, and it will last decades.
CW, I love yur blog. It is among the first few I hit every day. As a Yooper, (most of us do not call ourselves that but.....) if this is all the snowblower you need, just use a shovel, or a scoop.

ReplyDeleteThe rental house in Traverse City Michigan came with a 2 stage snow blower, I needed it.
ReplyDeleteGet a Husqvarna, you'll be much happier...

I waited too long to roll mine out. I think it could handle 6 inches nicely, not 24...
DeleteThey're single stage. Advertised as for "light to moderate" snowfall.

ReplyDeleteGot one of these from home depot. Worked fine on my 12 inch snow yesterday. Even better than my two stage, larger blower. I recommend it.
