I should go some year

  1. One of my uncles raced there as an amateur. He had a Royal Enfield 500 twin. He and his wife would ride it up from Buckinghamshire, onto the ferry, then remove the sidecar for the racing. They needed the sidecar because they wanted to take their dog, a border collie. When I turned seventeen he wanted to pass the bike on to me, my father intervened. It's possible that he regretted that more than me.

  2. 2021 Isle of Man TT will begin on Saturday, May 29 and ends on Friday, June 11. Sounds like it's time to get started on reservations and other planning.

Life is too short not to do these things if you want to and the way things are going these days...

  3. Back in the 90's, I got back on a bike, and considered taking a shot at the TT after warming up and running a couple races at my home track, Sears Point. Turns out they have an age limit for competitors at the Isle. Missed it by a couple years. Sigh...

  4. Come over to the NorthWest 200 and the Ulster GP as well. It's a whole different level of insanity. I once got to meet the late Joey Dunlop. He'd wrapped duct tape around the knees of his leathers. Each side had a spot the size of a quarter scrubbed off where he got the knee down where cornering.
