  1. An interesting piece of history, thanks!
I worked summers in college at the plant in LaPorte that Allis-Chalmers took over in 1931. My father shut that entire operation down in about 1989 as Allis-Chalmers tumbled into bankruptcy. At one time, the LaPorte plant was the largest farm machinery plant in the world, having 32 acres of manufacturing space indoors. Amazing place, with a sad end.

  4. Bob. Set your selector switch to "Single" instead of "3-Round Burst."

    1. Just be thankful it wasn't set on full "Auto". ;-)
