Probably Home Made

  1. This is a replica of the Glenn Curtiss airplane. Initially tri-gear landplane then adapted to floats. This is the first of many seaplanes designed by him.

His plane was different from the Wrights because it used aileron for roll control and the Wrights used warping/twisting the wings.

  2. more power to him. risking life and limb with something of your own creation is what made America what it is.

  4. Wasn't the Air Force toying with the idea of wing warping only a decade ago?

Glenn Curtis ripped off the Wrights. Thomas Edison did a wrong to the rights when he advised them to not seek patents for their work. The idea was the Patent laws were so weak that to seek a patent would be tantamount to telling the world what you've done and showing how to do it. Enter on Glenn Curtis.

I thought it high irony the Curtis-Wright companies. I guess Orville patched the wounds with Curtis.
