Wow, this Bloomberg article gets almost everything 180 degrees wrong.

An amazing piece of idiocy, but then again, it's Bloomberg.

It's as if they know nothing of the Constitution, the principle of federalism, the rule of law, or history.

The conclusion is especially rich.  The last paragraph says:

"John C. Calhoun, who used the theory of states’ rights to defend the institution of slavery, is not generally a philosophical lodestar for liberal Democrats such as Newsom. But if Republicans (or foreign friends) succeed in sabotaging democracy in November, Calhoun’s theory of nullification, which posited that states have the power to defy federal law, could be ripe for a comeback on the left coast. With the heirs of the Confederacy now reigning in Washington, turnabout might be very fair play."

A re-incarnation?  Same lunatic look out of the eyes?

Got news for this Bloomberg author, the heirs of the Confederacy are the Democrats.  Lincoln was the first Republican president.  Democrats supported slavery, and a century later tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Act.  Bull Conner, George Wallace, all the hating and spitting racists, were Democrats.
Modern Democratic social policy has ravaged the African American community.
Martin Luther King was a Republican.
The country is not a democracy, it's a constitutional republic.  If you are unaware of why that is, read the political philosophy of the founding fathers. This author certainly has no clue.
If the intention here is to encourage the state of California to challenge the federal government for independence, then they should consider how many Californians really want to lose their American citizenship for this pipe dream.
If a legal challenge, how far do these geniuses think that would go in the courts, assuming they aren't Hawaiian judges?
Does Bloomberg have editors anymore??

    1. It's all good, CW.

Two more conservative Trump appointments to the Ninth Circus, and 9 states come back into the fold of common sense and being part of America again.

I can almost feel the liberal heads exploding in Excremento and San Fransh*tsco. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

So, how many divisions of troops does Bloomberg have?

    2. Keep shouting a blatant lie enough times and Vola, it becomes the truth. Danke Herr Joseph Goebbels. Ironic Bloomberg, a Jew, is using the same tactics as a Nazi who wanted to exterminate his kind.

      1. It's good see someone who understands! They don't have to worry about the truth, they just need to have their message out there all the time and it will become close enough.

    3. Seriously, who gives a fuck what your enemies think or say about you? I don't. Simply understand, this wont end well for anybody and the vermin will force us to hunt them to extinction. Everyday puts me closer to the "fuck it, the sooner the better" camp.

    4. we need to pay attention to the idea and reality that words matter very much. there is nothing democratic about democrats way of thinking.
take for example the words "may" and "shall". Example: a sheriff "may" issue a requested CCW permit versus a sheriff "shall" issue a requested CCW permit. in the first instance, the sheriff can issue the permit if he feels like it or not if the requester is not on his favorites list irrespective of the requesters qualifications. in the second instance the sheriff is required to issue the permit if the requester meets the required criteria.
there is a difference in the word democratic and the word democrat. in the first instance, democratic describes an ideal behavior of a population in a society where every member of the society has a vote in all things governed by membership in that society. also known as the tyranny of the mob. when I hear or read the word "democrat" it describes an organization whose membership should all be charged under the RICO statutes.

    6. The issue of the legality of secession has been settled, but I'm all for expelling CA from the Union.

      1. Actually, most of CA would agree to that.
But first, FedGov would have to deed the 49% of the state's land they've stolen from it back to the people in CA.

The feds handing over that much real estate, willingly?
        That's crazy talk.

    8. Sadly the bottom line is that my Governor is a pretty boy idiot that can't keep it in his pants. (Ask his campaign manager about his wife & Gavin.)

    9. If you want to know the truth, start with the Abiville Institute website. Be forewarned, if you think that Lincoln and the Republicans of 1860 were Gods gift to humanity you will be surprised. Just keep an open mind, and verify with original source material. It took me about twenty years to realize that Lincoln was not the man I thought he was. It is not an easy road, but until they myth of Lincoln is destroyed we will never get back to the ideals of our Founders.

      1. Shame that Booth couldn't have been about 4-5 years earlier, the nation would have been a lot better off going forward. Lincoln was an idiot who did some real damage. It's been downhill ever since.
