Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.
President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.
About time. I get the impression Trump is just getting started with this, and if he gets re elected, he's going to really go after the swamp.
I suspect that he wants to show enough action before the election to encourage his supporters, but not enough to turn away those who only have one foot on the "Trump Train."
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope that there's MUCH more to come.
ReplyDeleteThe State Department needs a thorough delousing and the DOJ (along with the FBI) and CIA, after their recent coup participation, need to be wire-brushed to the point of being left raw. If he can do that, maybe then we can finally get rid of the Departments of Education, Commerce, and Agriculture, and the EPA. Few of the "Departments" or "Agencies" of the federal government do anything of real value for the average American citizen that couldn't be replaced with better service and lower cost by the private sector.
Word was that he was cutting 150 from the NSC staff. I think this is the first round with more coming within a month or so.
ReplyDelete'bout dang time.
ReplyDelete....hope this is just the beginning. Drain it.
How far into his term are we?
ReplyDeleteAbout time.....should've been the first thing after the inauguration....
ReplyDeleteI agree, but he had to wait until they gave him a reason for firing them.
