Ok, but it better have honest to goodness Colt Royal Bluing, and not cost 3 grand.

  1. I wondered why they stopped making them. For the record, they never left my house.

  2. Nice, but I like my Smith & Wesson's better.

  3. They are all stainless and are selling for around $800.

Folks who have done side-by-side comparisons between the old Python and the new, have all said the new one has a better trigger.

Not much looks better than Colt Royal Blueing, though.

    1. Smith Model 27 of the right vintage will give it a run...

  4. I miss my 4-in barrel Python with custom grips. Bought it back in 1964 and shot it a lot. A few decades later while I was out of the country on an extended stay my liberal sister found it and turned it in at the local cop shot....sigh!

  5. OK, I'm generally in favor of a new Python, if it meets or exceeds the old standards.

But those laminated grips would have to go.

  6. My uncle had a beuatful Royal Blue Colt Python .357 Magnum. Was stolen from his house. A couple of years later, the cops from Chicago called and said they had his pistol (he reported it stolen through the local cops at home...in Kansas!)and asked if he wanted it back. They shipped it back to the police in Kansas and he picked it up! It was stolen AGAIN a couple years later. He died waiting for the call to come in that it had been found again!!

  7. There is always room in my safe for a solid .357 with an action like glass.
