And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
J boats were Sloops the one in the picture (in front) is a Schooner (see how she Schoons.). I read a story about Sterling Hayden, before he became and actor. He was the Navigator on one of the Schooner Races Canada vs US. The story mentions him standing out there looking for the next mark. Since he, and the US, won the race, this cannot be a picture of it.
