And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The original grave site for General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson’s amputated arm. In 1863, Jackson was accidentally shot by his own Confederate troops, his arm amputated and given a christian burial.
General Smedley Butler, two time Medal of Honor awardee, during field exercises with his Marines in the 1920's, searched and found the arm of Stonewall Jackson and had the marker erected.
