As a young revolutionary Jean Baptiste Bernadotte, one of Napoleons generals, had plenty tattoos. He later went on to become King Charles XIV of Norway and Sweden. He was very careful never to show his chest to people, because he allegedly had a tattoo that said “DEATH TO KINGS”
