Flashy, but hard on the lever action.

  1. If the steel is of quality it shouldn't cause any damage. My brother had a pistol that would not chamber the first round properly for him. I jerked the slide back hard and let it slam forward. It worked perfectly. He said I was hard on his gun. I pointed out the fact that I could never slam it harder than an explosion would. A good gun can handle it. If it is going to break I want to know before I really need it.

  2. I wonder how many rifles he broke while doing that serial.

  3. I watch that show most every day & I can not figure out how he could hit anything the way he uses that gun.

  4. When I was around 16 or so, I went to the local hardware store in Woodland Hills & standing at the counter was Chuck Connors! He was even bigger in real life than he was on TV. He was my hero in The Rifleman.

I'll always wish I had spoken to him, but I was painfully shy back then, so missed my opportunity; alas!

  5. A man of many talents. Among them, the first NBA player ever to shatter a backboard. He also came up with the idea for screw in the lever for rapid fire.

  7. Chuck Conner was an athletic machine. Pro basketball and baseball player. Loved "The Rifleman" and will binge watch it every time I see it on the television.

  8. Now how many of you have tried to do this with your Daisy Red Ryder? You only try it once! Ouch!
