And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If the steel is of quality it shouldn't cause any damage. My brother had a pistol that would not chamber the first round properly for him. I jerked the slide back hard and let it slam forward. It worked perfectly. He said I was hard on his gun. I pointed out the fact that I could never slam it harder than an explosion would. A good gun can handle it.
