And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My eyes aren't as good as they once been... I guess looking at them closer and using a magnifying glass I can see they are collard greens. Still yucky! Never could acquire a taste for Okra or collard green and I married a Alabama Southern Belle and a very Southern Family. Why they let a damn Yankee pollute the gene pool I will never figure out.
Hope heaven looks like this!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that pink stuff?
ReplyDeleteOnion... possibly pickled. Every thing is good except the Okra in the lower left, yukky stuff even when I was living in Alabama.
DeleteCollard greens!

DeleteWhat’s that square white stuff? Some sort of thick, crusted napkin? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe green, tubular things just above the greens are pickled jalapeños.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, there isn't a type of okra that I won't eat. Pickled, fried, stewed or in a good jambalaya. It's all good.
An insult to good food, putting that dreadful, chemical laden mass produced pap that claims to be bread on the same plate.
ReplyDeleteYup, that anemic looking bread spoils the picture.
