And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Help a friend runs 600 FT outlaw drags in WV, get to see some seriously outragious setups, from full blown 4wd Caddy Escalades to old square body S-10's with twin turbos mounted back in the bed so they can run intake air thru dry ice packed intercoolers, drag bikes all kinds, locals along roads act as spotters and call in when the law has to respond to someone who calls in a complaint, the Deputies usually have to take a long detour to get a coffee, they could care less about stopping us, few times they show up and hang out with everyone, the girls got smart and started setting up a barbecue, that way the deputies get lunch too.
Any of those C-10 GM trucks are worth a lot of money in pretty much any condition. Buy a frame/chassis to your specs and bolt it together. Very few ride worth a crap as if they are seldom driven. Likely trailered to car shows and unloaded nearby so they can drive a terrible handling vehicle to it's numbered spot. Open the ole beer chest and listen to the viewers talk about how cool that ride is. I know of a guy that has 5 or 6 C-10s and brings several to increase his chance of "winning" several cheap trophies they carry around in that truck so people se it at their next car show. Lot's of ego out there.
I don't see envy...I see people seeing a lot of egos from the owners of trucks that the likely pad a professional shop to build for them. I have been building everything from Top Fuel dragsters, a Funny Car or two. Also built a FIA Grand Sport for a company in Dallas. Also built the proof of concept Scarab "street version and the FIA Scarab driven by Augie Pabst. Later build a replica of the Aston Martin DBR1 driven by Carrol Shelby when he won the Grand Prix in 1958. This doesn't cover a number of very fast street Chevy Novas with one crashing and the chassis from killing the driver. So before you add me to your envy list I will say this. I have very little if any. If I had the so called envy I would post under my professional name. Since I am now retired the only thing that will ever build will be on this desktop using a CAD program. This will be my last word on this subject. Carry On!
There's obviously a lot of time, skill and money gone into that, all of which could have so easily been used to much better effect, rather than turn out this hideous lump.
Sounds like sour grapes. To each his own. His money his truck. Nobody is forcing anyone to look. Besides, all we know its AI, which is getting pretty good, couple "artifacts" in their, seem wierd.
600 FT Truck maybe?
