  1. Never been a fan of systems where the base of the burner, which sat in dirt and/or mud, is placed *inside* the pot. One more cleaning task before use.

  2. Oh dear, jetboil, where to begin. Plastic handles will burn-melt. The pan is infant size. And at $400 it is priced so NO ONE ever buys it except complete idiots. I mean really, WTF???

    2. My MSR Pocket Rocket has worked well in hundreds of instances over the past 15 years and only cost about $30.

  3. I mean, it's not something you can put in a pack, and that carrier doesn't include the fuel container, so it's so big it is strictly a "carry it in truck" thing. Once you've got the truck to carry your stuff, what's the advantage to this? Some student got a good grade on his design assignment, but the professor has never actually gone camping.

  4. About 15 years ago I bought an original Jet Boil setup, not nearly as extensive as this thing. I've taken it on a few long back packing trips and no serious complaints. I mainly boil water to reconstitute dehydrated trail food. Works fine for that.
