And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
This may be nice to look at but for me, I spent 12 months and 29 days "camping" on the back of my USMC tank in Vietnam. No more outdoor sleeping for me.
hey john, tell us the story about how you drove your tank into dooseldorfenhausen and killed all the germans and deGaul and Monty gave you a gold medal!
john, john,,, pay no attention to that moniker's retort. he's must be a bitter person for a lot of his comments are in this vein. maybe he/it is just entertaining itself. illinois charles.
lets see what it looks like in the morning. i friend and i camped in stuff like that in 76 in pine lake UT. it showed 2 ft that night and stranded us and our truck. i walked 3 miles into town with garbage bag gaiters on to call for help. it was another adventure and learning experiance in survival. geezer
After 4-6 days you get pretty comfy, your body adjusts, 30 degress is T shirt weather, sleep nice a toasty at night. Got to eat lots of rich and high natural fat foods for the energy supply. Like bringing a couple full slabs of dry cure bacon, few lbs of butter, flour to make bacon grease fry pan biscuits, couple bottles liquor, hot chocolate, my shotgun for ruffed grouse, and fly rod for winter trout. Its worth humping it, but mostly paddle the canoe cross a couple lakes connect by a short river, go back far and nobody is around, if you can pick up a camp meat permit you can bag a deer and eat like kings.
The lantern flame is set too high, smoking the globe. Cuts down the light.

People intentionally adopt the homeless lifestyle/misery and call it camping.
ReplyDeleteThe good part, no mosquitoes. The bad part, freezing your butt off.
