Look at the size of that lion's head!

  1. That thing could eat ALL of ya at a single sitting.
Chew on your spinkter like a piece of bubblegum, or worse, a rubberband.

  2. Jeezum Crow! Thats one rugged lioness. She looks affectionate enough, must be pretty close friends.

  4. I've seen so many videos on YT of someone who helped raise a lion cub (or jaguar, leopard, tiger, you name it), then the person had to go someplace. The cub grows up and the human comes back. This is how they get greeted. Like a long lost friend, someone the cat has always known and always loved.

  7. That the paw alone is the size of the man's head is noteworthy as well.
Mother Nature reminding you of your place on the food chain, and it's not at the top.

I heard a dozen or so old circus lions all howling together once, from about 1/4 mile away. One starts, and it sets all the others off. Lion version of "Marco Polo", evidently, to locate the rest of the pride.

Even knowing they were securely housed inside separate iron-barred cages and enclosures, the sound is still more than enough to decalcify anyone's spinal cord, and make you involuntarily limber up, check out the surrounding crowd for the slowest sacrificial one(s), and make sure your car keys are near to hand.

I want to go back and record them with a good studio-quality recorder, so I can play it back out of loudspeakers around Castle Anthrax random times at about 3AM, at around 100dB. Just for giggles, and as a precaution.

The best home defense gunfights are the ones you never have, right?
