I've used plenty of baseballs into that condition, where they look the best ever.

  1. It was a sad day when you noticed the seam splitting…

  2. That one looks prematurely damaged. Time to go in the box in the closet with the others, and break out a new one. I tried to repair one once and it didn't last long. I was maybe 10 years old. So I tore it down and underneath miles of gray cloth twine was a small hollow rubber ball filled with a dank fluid.

  3. Electrical tape will work for a time too.

  4. While that one is slightly damaged, I've used baseballs to the point of having a nice greenish brown patina.

  8. you can really pitch some funny balls when they get like that. makes a knuckleball look tame.

  9. I've used a few bats like that too. The jagged end hurts a little between the little finger and the wrist.
