And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Have a similar pair of Black Diamonds. They stayed at hunting camp until it was time to pack out the elk. Absolutely indispensable for that task. As I get older I've found that they get used more and more.
If you have a heavy pack, it takes a lot of core energy just to control the load. These two extra points of contact with upper body leverage can really make a difference in end-of-the-day fatigue. That is another benefit in addition to extra stability in creek crossings, etc. I've used Cascade Mountain Tech poles in the wilds of Washington State for years. They are wonderful, and the price is well below the "name brand" poles that are out there, for equal performance.
