And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Curly Maple, maybe. Hard to tell until more of the grain is exposed. Looks like he's planed only that small section. Gonna be a chore. The fun leaves, the job ain't finished. Press on, get it done. It'll be worth it.
It's that wood smell CW. It was 8 degrees C. in Ottawa this AM, I heard geese for the first time and the Sun now sets well before 8:00 PM. I couldn't be happier! Steve_in_Ottawa
HA! Sitting on the porch last night sippin' dragon spit I heard Canada geese for the first time since maybe April or May. That's a signal that winters coming.
Speakin' of dragon spit Ghost, I was just sitting out in the late afternoon Sun with a new tipple. It's "Two Stack, Double Barrel, Single Malt Irish Whiskey". Quite light, but not a bad dram at all. First time I've seen it in the store. I'll save the Laphroaig for the darker evenings. Steve_in_Ottawa

DeleteLooks like ash to me and the shavings are from something a whole lot softer, maybe mahogany or walnut.
ReplyDeleteIf feels like autumn because we used it in shop class.
ReplyDeleteMy shop teacher would have berated him for setting the planer down on its blade. You are supposed to lay it on its side.
