And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Even crossbows have sights friend. The one beside me even has a low powered scope. I removed the scope and tried to "Sight down the Bolt" (as a crossbow shoots bolts not arrows) and I'm not sure if I could hit much that way.
Was taught shooting a simple recurve without sights, lot like shooting pool, you get a kind of mental sense where your arrows are going to hit from the angles present at the moment. Once you get the basics down close in, then it requires practice, I guess like anything, and some are much better than others, but if your born doing it its another matter. An extension of self. Particularly if you must use it to bring in food. Thats a big arse recurve she is posing with.
Left index on the shaft? Posing fail. That's like posing with your thumb behind the slide of a pistol. It's stupid, and it's going to hurt when you fire.
She's using an Asian style Thumb Draw. You put the arrow on the other side of the bow because drawing the arrow loads it differently than the Euro style finger draw. I've got an old righty compound bow, from a much larger person, but I am left handed, so I use thumb draw on it. On my Horse Bow, I still use a finger draw, because at higher draw weight, I am far less accurate with Thumb than Finger. The old compound's let-off seems to negate that.
I wonder what the background is for that bow. It is very long, while still using sayahs. Being in snow, possibly not the bast wood available so they compensated by going longer. She is a bit short for it too, but that's another problem. much closer of a target and the lower is going to pop the snow on release.
look at her eyes, she is most definitly focused on a target.

DeleteShe'a brunette. Thats all I need.
ReplyDeleteAccuracy with a longbow is a heck of a talent. Since the the full pull goes back to the ear, she can't sight down the arrow.

In any form of archery, you cannot sight down the arrow.
DeleteCrossbows don’t count?
DeleteModern compound bows pull to the cheek. You can sight down those.

DeleteShe’ll stab you long time….
ReplyDeletefor sure she isn't Red Ryder's friend Little Beaver. Wonder how many "pounds of pull" it takes to launch an arrow?
