Dancing into the weekend

  1. They did things back then without AI. Remarkable human beings. In black and white on cellular film too.

  2. 'Swing Time' wherein Astaire also sings 'The Way You Look Tonight' in a great moment with Ginger Rogers. Wonderful movie and as you noted, no AI. When actors could sing, dance and act. And it seemed like it was less about them and more about what they could actually do. Steve_in_Ottawa.

  3. I still watch old movies. Wish I had more Astaire on DVD in the library.

    1. DVD for your library? AnyDVD, CloneDVD, an external DVD burner, blank DVDs and a public library is one answer. Amazon is another...

  4. Not to change the mood or throw water on the proceeding but I understand that Fred Astaire was such a perfectionist that he often refused to perform with intended dance partners who did not do exactly what he wanted.

  5. The dance in the movie, The Producers, between Matthew what's his name and the tall blonde is very reminiscent of the golden age. Very well done.

  7. I remember this entire scene set to an "electro-swing" composition. Whomever did it was a master. Search YT for "fred & ginger parov stelar". FYI, the original song that was "redone" has very old school, very non-PC lyrics. It's also hilarious.
