And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The thing is, how often do those books get read? Is it just for ambience and looks? Are there other ways to have an attractive setting that might be more useful? It is impressive.
My living room as a large floor to ceiling bookshelf that is loaded with books. I would say that the majority of my books (not my wife's) have been read at least twice. It is amazing how much you can catch on the second reading that you never realized was there in the first passthrough.
I especially like the balcony (loft) location.

DeleteI read all the books on my shelf (of 20 titles or less as well)...sometimes twice...but donate the rest to individuals and sources.
