And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There's no shortage of places like that in So. Cal. and it's a house you can drive to. Don't know if there's any of those left, north or San Diego county, they may be all burned out. From my former neck of the woods, that would be looking north, ocean would be a few dozen miles to the left.
A friend lived in one for a year. Fantastic getaway, gorgeous views. Fun playing the rugged individualist.

Maybe if you're trying to finish writing your book or something, this might be just the place.
