And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've done it a few times when I was young and stupider, but I've never been able to be comfortable in a hammock, not for a night's sleep. If there was a way to have a semi-rigid insert in the bottom of one, I might try it again.
1) Thermal pads and a good bag solve any quibbles about the cold. 2) They get you off the ground where the snakes and creepy crawlies habitate, which is a plus. 3) Unfortunately, ideal camper height makes you simply a burrito for wolves, bears, et al. 4) So unless it's for belowdecks on a sailing man o' war, hard pass.
