  1. somewhere in the fine print is F-86 Sabre Jet! Reconstituted Luftwaffe also had more than a few F-86's. Then they got stiffed with F-104's.
...for the “Wings of NATO”, the RCAF has an entire air division equipped with the “finest aircraft in European operational service – the Canadair built F-86 Sabre Jet”

  2. Canadair used the Canadian Orenda engine so the Sabre Mk6 had 20-25% more thrust and weighed less. Additionally they built it with leading edge slats so it was the fastest and best handling of all the Sabre models and the best dogfighter of the '50s. The RAF and Luftwaffe flew Canadair built Sabres.
