If you want to see "beautiful end grain cutting boards" go to youtube and type that in. Amazing the amount of work some people are willing to put into that stuff.
Not waterproof, but full of oil. In the tropics, there was once so much of it, they used it for lumber. IN that regard, it's like cypress - stands up for a very long time, and the termites won't touch it. But it's a soft wood, with an open grain. Not for just clicking, but if you follow the link to Amazon, and buy anything, they give me a commission. It isn't much, usually about 3%, but it does add up and pay the wifi bill consistently. Thanks, I appreciate your help for sure.
Teak lumber tends to have a lot of sand in the fiber because of how it grows. Dulls woodworking machinery quickly. I would avoid it for a cutting board, as it will dull your kitchen knives quickly.
That is one beautiful cutting board.
