And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My wife has had one of these on her desk for 40 years, it doesn't have USB.
I had to change the pull chain switch-socket out a couple weeks ago and it was a pita because there was very little wire to work with and impossible to pull more because of how it's threaded down through them pipes.
I reinstalled a high quality antique bronze metal socket which is more in keeping with the lamp style than the cheap black plastic one that came with it.
I also installed an elongated Edison style 40 watt bulb as it too was more in keeping with the style.

I have the older model. No USB port. I also rebuilt it 25 years ago. I upgraded the cheap pull chain to a knob.
