Back in the day when there were actual, real movie stars

  1. Steve McQueen was 5'6. Yul Brynner was 5'4. Yul Brynner built little mounds on his marks to make him taller than McQueen. McQueen flattened them.

I guess Brynner's chair was taller too, right?

  2. This was back in the Good Old Days before idiots like Rober De Nero opened their pie holes and tried mightily to be political commentators.

  3. These days one five-second clip on tictac makes people a movie star.

    1. Nevada Smith was on last night. While it was on, I perused the IMDb images, many of which were casual pictures of him relaxing between takes. In many of the pictures he had a cigarette in his hand.

He was ill during the filming of Tom Horn and had already quit cigarettes but continued to smoke cigars.

Martin Landau's 'death scream' in Nevada Smith is one off my favorite movie scenes of all time, and in my opinion Brian Keith's part in the movie was fantastic.
