Åstol (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈôːstuːl]) is a locality situated south of Tjörn Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 210 inhabitants in 2010.

  7. Nearly everyone in history pre-1950 lived in such tight quarters, and most of the world lives even tighter than that. The idea of "space" is a modern one, and not yet proven to be a good one as most people complain about how disconnected we are in today's society.

    1. It was a fishing village until the 1970's. Small fishing boats became obsolete, so the island is just a novelty now.
